The Watchic Lake Association, working together with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection have completed their first project to reduce stormwater runoff into Watchic Lake. Reminder – Dam Opening about November 1

The Watchic Lake dam gate will be opened on about Monday November 1, 2022 (plus or minus a few days depending on weather) for the winter. Following the opening, the lake level will go down to its winter level over the course of about two to four weeks (depending in part on rainfall). World Wildlife Fund Thanks Watchic for Wildlife for Their Support

Everyone who knows Eileen Burnell, know she loves Watchic Lake and loves all wildlife. She has dedicated many years to volunteering on the lake to help project our wildlife. Successful Shoreline Vegetation Best Practices Workshop

A small group of WLA members attended a workshop hosted by the WLA Board. This workshop described vegetation best practices to help reduce runoff, and then visit properties on the lake to see these practices in action.
