  • 6/3/2024. Veterans Fishing Derby Fund Raiser. The Kiwanis is hosting Operation Ray of Light for a fishing derby on Watchic Lake Friday June 3. Boats should enter at the Hi-Vu boat launch and will be inspected by certified Maine Boat Inspectors for invasive plants. Not a WLA sponsored event.

  • 6/21/2024. Maine Lakes and Lake Stewards of Maine Conference. The board and staff of Lake Stewards of Maine and Maine Lakes invite you to join them on the beautiful University of Maine Farmington campus for a full day of learning about the legacy and value of Maine’s lakes and ponds. Speakers and panels throughout the day will address a variety of topics around lake value and legacy, with many opportunities for networking with fellow lake advocates and connecting with those both near and far who share your passion for lake protection.   • 7/20/2024. The Annual Audubon Loon Count. Volunteers gather at 6:45 am to count the loons on the lake. If you have an hour to spare and would like to help with the count and meet your neighbors, please contact Kim Lajoie at kimj03229@aol.com..
  • 8/10/2024. The Ice Cream Boat returns the afternoon of Saturday August 10. Listen for that lovely jingle! This is a WLA sponsored event.
  • 8/17/2023. Watchic Lake Dam Tour. Learn about the history of the dam, how it was rebuilt in 2007, and ongoing operations. The tour will be held on Saturday August 17 at 10:00 am. If coming by boat, please tie up on the shore (not at the dam). Please contact David Burnell at dtburnell@gmail.com to confirm your attendance.

  • 8/27/2022. Annual Watchic Lake Tie-Up. On the afternoon of August 27 at about 3:00 pm, keep eye out for a “tie-up” on the lake. Bring out your boat, kayak, canoe or giant unicorn and hang out with others on the lake. This is a WLA sponsored event.
  • 8/24/2022. Social Event. Join us Wednesday August 24 at 5:30 pm for our second gathering with Watchic Lake friends and neighbors at the newly reopened Outpost Bar and Grill (380 PequawketTrail). Cash bar. This is a WLA sponsored event.

2020 Events

  • August to November 2020. Route 113 Culvert Replacement and Road Closure.  Maine DOT contractors will remove the existing concrete structure on Rt 113 near Watchic Rd 19 and replace it with a new precast concrete wildlife-friendly culvert box. This section of Rt 113 will be closed/restricted during this period. More here.
  • 7/11/2020. Watchic Lake Association Annual Meeting. The meeting will be held on Saturday July 11, 2020 at 10:00 am. Due to Covid-19 restrictions in the state of Maine, and for the safety of our members, the WLA will hold its annual meeting online.  More details will be provided here.
