Loon Update from Kim and Steve – August 2023

Dam Tour Saturday July 22

Learn about the history of the dam, how it was rebuilt in 2007, and ongoing operations. If coming by boat, please tie up on the shore (not at the dam). Reminder – Dam Opening about November 1

The Watchic Lake dam gate will be opened on about Monday November 1, 2022 (plus or minus a few days depending on weather) for the winter. Following the opening, the lake level will go down to its winter level over the course of about two to four weeks (depending in part on rainfall).
